Florida Power & Light Company Classroom Makeover GrantsAwards of $50,000 for five schools in Florida served by FP&L or NextEra Energy Resources. Supports economically disadvantaged students in K-12 Title 1 public, charter or private schools or for schools serving a minimum of 40% economically disadvantaged students. Funds are available to address technology or resources that will advance STEM curricula, exposure, and careers to diverse students in a classroom setting.TBA for Fall 2025
Truliant Education Grant ProgramThe  Truliant Foundation awards grants of up to $5,000 to support transformational education and programming that promotes student success in the classroom. Grants are for 6th – 12th grade teachers employed by a public school system in a city or county where Truliant has a physical presence – NC, SC, & VA. TBA for Fall 2025
Burroughs Wellcome Fund – Student STEM Enrichment ProgramSSEP supports diverse programs with a common goal: to enable primary and secondary students to participate in creative, hands-on STEM activities for K-12 students and pursue inquiry-based exploration in BWF’s home state of North Carolina. These awards provide up to $60,000 per year for three years.6/9/2025
Burroughs Wellcome Fund – Promoting Inovation in Science & MathematicsProvides funds for materials, equipment, and supplies related to the implementation of high-quality curriculum and activities in the classroom (North Carolina only). This award provides up to $3,000 for one year to cover the cost of equipment, materials, and supplies.  An additional $1,500 may be requested for PD related to the implementation of new equipment or the use of materials in the classroom. TBD

The Georgia Foundation for Public Education is awarding between $500 and $2,500 in Teacher Grants for Innovation to Georgia public school teachers to help bring your creative ideas to life. Nordson Foundation Grants

Invitation only, with only some GA counties being eligible within PowerUpEDU’s partner states. Nordson prioritizes distributing grants to the areas of STEM education, human welfare, and arts and cultureVaries; contact local Nordson representative (on website) for details. 

State Farm Good Neighbor Citizenship Grant

Education funding may be available for K-12 STEM initiatives. The funding process is by invitation only, but a form can be submitted to request to be considered for funding.N/A  

TE Connectivity Grants 

Community Ambassador Program grants generally range from $1,000-$25,000 and support local efforts in the communities in which TE employees live and work. April 4, 2025

The NEA Foundation Student Success Grants

Supports school projects that enhance students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills, support personalized and experiential learning, mastery of essential academic content, and engage students in learning experiences connected to real-world issues and challenges. February 17, 2025

The Snook Foundation

Provides funding to enhance school facilities and provide increased educational opportunities. Only available for schools located in South Baldwin County of Alabama. February 15th and August 15th

Toshiba America Foundation Grants

Provides grants up to $1,000 to K-5 teachers and up to $5,000 (sometimes more than $5,000) for 6-12 grade teachers to bring an innovative project into their own classroom.October 1st

Toyota 4GOOD

For Alabama and North Carolina, special consideration is given to STEM programs.Awarded on a rolling basis

TVA STEM Ready Grants 

The TVA STEM Classroom Grant Program is designed to fund STEM learning projects in classrooms and schools in the TVA service area. Grants are approximately $2,000 per school. August/September

Voya Unsung Heroes Awards Program

50 educators are selected to receive $2,000 to fund innovative class projects. Three of those are chosen to receive an additional award of $5,000, $10,000, and $25,000. April 18, 2025

Wal-mart – Spark Good Local Grants

Grants are awarded through an open application process to eligible organizations operating locally and directly benefiting the service area of the facility from when they are requesting funding. Amounts range from $250 up to $5,000. 

3 submission periods for 2025:

*Aug 6 – Oct 15   

*Nov 1 – Dec 31

Wells Fargo Community Giving

While education is not a primary focus area for giving, it may be possible to receive support through a grant. Anticipated cycle for submitting a grant interest form begins February 2025

Westinghouse Charitable Giving Program

One of the strategic areas of giving is for “Education with a focus on STEM.” Grants defined as education with a focus on STEM are those used to improve knowledge and literacy with a focus in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math among students, teachers and the general public.Awarded on a rolling basis

Title IV-B

The 21st Century Community Learning Center program provides funding for academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children (before/after school and/or summer). The program helps students meet state and local academic standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.

For use and support of students attending a 21st CCLC program:

–            Instructional equipment

–            STEM materials

–            ESports

–            Equipment for family engagement activities

Title V-A

Support rural and low-income schools; intended to supplement the allowable uses of other Title funds

All uses listed for Title I-A through Title IV-A.

IDEA, Part B

Federal Funding provided through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) that supports special education and related services for school-aged children with disabilities (ages 3 – 21). Funding can support meeting the needs of qualifying students with disabilities identified in each students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Funding uses can only support students that qualify for an IEP:

–            Materials and equipment that assist in providing similar educational opportunities received by students without disabilities

o   Instructional equipment

o   Virtual and/or augmented reality

o   Transformational learning spaces
